Sarveshni Moodley is a proud feminist who has been dedicated to helping others since she was a child. She is the CFO at Farm-Ag International, a leading agrochemical company in South Africa. As testament to her goal of breaking gender stereotypes and norms, Sarveshni is the only female director currently serving on the company’s board of directors. Having completed her articles at Deloitte in 2014, Sarveshni’ s commitment to lifelong learning saw her attain her MBA in 2018. She is also an internationally published author, with her research article having been published in the Arabian Group of Journals.
What sets Sarveshni apart is that she has been influencing the lives of others from an extraordinarily young age. Since joining the Sai Organisation with her family in 1996, she has been actively involved in various community upliftment projects for decades. She actively rallies to support the SCDIFA Cheshire Home in Chatsworth, an NPO which is home to severely disabled children. A firm believer in the importance of all faith-based institutions and their impact on society, Sarveshni is a long-serving member of various temples in Chatsworth. She is keenly involved in and contributes to the monthly and ad hoc community feeding schemes and social upliftment programmes hosted by these faith-based institutions. When the devastating floods hit KZN in April 2022, these temples had water disruptions that hindered their operational and charitable activities. When a plea was made, Sarveshni was instrumental in securing water storage tanks for two of these institutions.
Sarveshni, a dedicated academic, recognises the importance of investing in the development of people. As a pragmatic leader, she adopts the bottom-up approach, and in so doing, has inspired junior colleagues to further their studies. She also motivated for grants for their studies and continues to mentor these junior colleagues. Since taking up a leadership role, there has been an increased focus on the corporate social initiatives of the company.
Outside of the corporate world, one would be surprised to know that Sarveshni is extremely creative and artistic. She paints, draws, sculpts, and creates art through various mediums. She is a skilled baker and an avid gardener.
Sarveshni’ s goal is to be able to show others that it is never too early to help improve the lives of others. More importantly, she wants people to realise that one does not need a ton of money to do seva (charity). Her motto is ‘to do the best you can with what you have’.
