Head: SME Business Solutions, Old Mutual Limited

Khanya is the executive for SME Business Solutions in the Corporate segment at Old Mutual. She is responsible for growing Old Mutual’s market share within the SME market segment by leading and implementing partnerships and commercial arrangements for lending and advisory solutions.

Khanya is a strategy and investment professional with a deep passion for the empowerment of small and growing African businesses. Her career has centred on the development and provision of flexible and affordable finance solutions. Having worked directly with investee companies as a funder and business support strategist, and indirectly by creating SME investment fund mandates, Khanya has managed investment projects and cross-functional stakeholder partnerships within the financial services sector across various African countries.

She holds an MBA from the University of Oxford and is currently in the Old Mutual Global Executive Programme, AMPLIFY, at London Business School.

Beyond the scope of her professional work, Khanya is passionate about education, leadership development and empowering young minds. She is the CEO of Fun Learning for Youth (FLY), an NGO in its 12th year of operation that is focused on providing supplementary tutoring services in underserviced areas in South Africa, with chapters in Cape Town and Johannesburg. The mandate of FLY is to provide learners with an environment that is conducive to learning. Its mission is to create equal access to opportunities through the delivery of mathematics and life skills lessons. FLY is sustained by a base of over 80 volunteers who are themselves young professionals and who in turn support nearly 200 learners annually.

Khanya is a founding member and co-lead of Millennials at Old Mutual (MiOM), a community of young leaders across the Old Mutual Limited business whose aim is to create connections and networking opportunities to engage on topical matters with executives. MiOM facilitates conversations on leadership, business growth and agility and talent development.
